There are countless clubs and societies at LSE, so if you want another way to meet people with similar interests/ broaden your horizons, joining club(s) would be a good option. I would definitely recommend going to the LSE Fresher’s Fayre in the First week of the term – there you can talk to representatives from each club and get a feel for what each club is like and pay the marginal (1-10 pound) registration fee for clubs you are interested in joining. Don’t sign up for too many though – you may be enthusiastic at first but then you begin to realize it is hard to be an active member in several clubs while balancing other interests!
